Maintenance and use instructions

1. Preparing the pure cast iron pot: seasoning
• Before first use, wash the pan in hot water with dishwashing detergent, rinse and dry. Grease the pan on all sides (inside, outside, handles) with a layer of vegetable oil and place it in the oven face down on a tray (preferably with aluminum foil to collect the fat that will drip), at the highest temperature, for one hour. Then turn off the oven and let the pan cool down, inside. A protective layer will form that will prevent the pan from rusting and food from sticking. Such preparation (seasoning) should be repeated periodically, more precisely when the pan loses its non-stick properties.

2. Cleaning the cast iron pot
• We recommend cleaning the pan with salt and hot water, using the rough side of a sponge or half a lemon, which is degreasing. As cast iron is a porous material, avoid cleaning the pan with chemicals or detergents that could be absorbed by the pan.

3. Maintenance and storage of the cast iron pot
• We recommend greasing the bowl with vegetable oil before each storage. If the bowl has a lid, do not store it closed, so that it can be ventilated.

4. Rust removal (perfectly normal for a pure cast iron pot)
• Heat the pot and scrub using the rough side of a sponge. If the rust persists, soak the pot in a solution (50% water, 50% vinegar) and then clean again.
• You can also try cleaning your rusty pot with a potato. Cut a potato in half, then rub the cut side of the potato.
• After removing the rust, a new seasoning process is required.

Technical characteristics of the product

With the right pot, you can now embark on a unique culinary adventure. We recommend that you try the recipe below:

Serbian beans

Ingredients:
- 500g white beans
- 4-5 large onions
- 2 red Capsicum peppers
- 2 teaspoons of thyme
- 1 teaspoon of cumin (optional)
- 2 teaspoons sweet paprika
- bay leaves
- olive oil
- salt and pepper

Preparation:

Boil the beans so that the
beans remain whole. Mix with cumin (optional). Keep the water in which the
beans were boiled.

Heat the cauldron. Cut
jullienne onion and sauté in olive oil, with salt, pepper, thyme, paprika and
bay. When the onion is browned, remove it from the cauldron.

Then place alternate layers
of beans and onion in the cauldron. Finish off with a layer of beans, on top of
which place your julienne peppers.

Carefully add the water in
which the beans were boiled and bake in the hot oven for 30 minutes.
